Project 3 Reflection: Knowledge

I thought that the easiest part of this project was making the actual podcast itself, after having written and finalized a script and making sure all the interviewees answers were in order. In the past I took a broadcasting class so I had to deal with writing scripts and editing actual footage and interviews from the projects i'd make in class so I found it quite easy doing this project. In my opinion this project had to be my favorite of the three just because it included more than just an essay and you could talk to the reader or listener as oppose to just writing what you have to say and expecting the audience to get from it what you wanted them to understand.

The part I struggled with the most was figuring out what types of questions I wanted to ask my interviewees in order to get the information I needed to support my argument. Then once I found the questions I intended to ask, it was somewhat difficult editing their responses and cutting out parts that were irrelevant and just basically fitting it all together into the script so that it would flow easily.

From this project I learned that setting times to get things done makes anything that much easier to do instead of rushing until the last minute. In order to make sure I had the people whom i wanted to interview I had to ask them ahead of time and make sure that I could fit the time in my schedule to meet up with them and also make sure out meeting time wouldn't interfere with their schedule as well. So basically time management was a big factor in this project.

As for altering my writing and recording skills I think this project taught me a lot. Just from the 3 projects we had to do and all the assignments every monday it helped build up to what we were eventually going to have to do. One thing I think I need to work on the most would be taking my time on essays and projects instead of just writing whatever comes to my mind and expecting to have met the requirements needed for a particular essay or project.

I felt as if my argument was very strong in project 3. I made sure to give enough detail and background knowledge in order to persuade the audience into what I was trying to get them to understand. Also, I feel as if my interviewee's responses and added commentary in the conversation helped make a better argument for myself because it proved that I knew what I was talking about and also showed evidence and support for the importance of my topic.

I think podcasts are very important in the real world. This project taught me what is required in order to make a podcast and also showed me a little more as to what a podcast really consists of. I never really heard of a podcast before this class or just never really knew that someone speaking on a radio show was called that, but now that I do I feel a little more informed on them. All in all the project went great and like I said I feel as if this was the best one we were assigned this semester.
